Summer Can Countdown 6 (It's here, baby!)

Summer is right around the corner.  Time to get ready for some white-water rafting, right?

That's it.  There is no more to say.  I'm making the grilling menu for Memorial Day, breaking out the camping gear, buying friendly chemicals for the swimming pool, and busting outta here. Summer 2014 is on!  (Now I just need to find the Coke Cans for this year!)

Summer Can Countdown 5

Road Trip!  April is here, there is one month to go, and I am eager to get started on plans for a big, wide, luscious summer 2014.  And what says summer better than a road trip with a nice cool can of Coca-Cola gliding along the highway with you in a cup holder?

If you are interested in taking a road trip this summer and would like to check out some soda landmarks, here are three I suggest below.

The World of Coca-Cola Museum in Atlanta Georgia.

New Bern, North Carolina where Pepsi was invented under the name 'Brad's Drink" in 1893

The Dr. Pepper Museum  in Waco, Texas, the city where Dr. Pepper was invented by Charles Alderton around 1885.

There.  That's a nice little summer triangle of traveling to get your summer started!  And oh, yeah. You can toss your bikes on the roof of you car too just like in the can so you can get a little exercise after drinking all that soda.

Can number 4!  It's roller coasters, baby!  This is actually my favorite summer Coke can of 2013. Who doesn't love a good roller coaster ride and a can of Coke to cool you off while you wait in the long line to board?

If you are looking for an actual Coca-Cola roller coaster and not just some lame one on a can, you could have checked out The Coca-Cola Roller at The Glasgow Garden festival in England.  It opened in 1988 but was sold off that same year and renamed The Missile.  It was later dismantled and renamed again in 2007 and is now called The Surfer at Pleasurewood Hills.

So it was a brief Coca-Cola/Roller Coaster moment, but a picture of it from 1988 decked out in Coca-Cola red and white appears below.
